'NHS Direct interactive TV' now launched

After some months of tests the NHS Direct interactive TV is now officially
launched and fully viewable with a SKY digital television box

Sky viewers can access the service by pressing the interactive button on
their SKY remote control and scrolling down the menu and selecting 'NHS
Direct Interactive'. By pressing the red button on the TV remote control
viewers can search about 3000 pages of an encyclopedia on health topics
including text and video clips on common conditions.

The service is Free-To-Air and to some extent accessible by satellite
television in much of Europe.
( Frequency 11527 Mhz , V , SR 27500 FEC 2/3 for those using non-SKY digital
satellite TV boxes connected to a dish pointed at 28East )

Really? I just had a brief look at the NHS Direct service and thought it
exceptionally speedy.

It's just a pity that all the much vaunted interactive services on the digibox
are so slow as to be almost unusable. The only decent use of interactive that I
have seen is choosing between multiple sports at the Olympics or different
courts at Wimbledon.

Then your complaint is about crappy old hardware, not about interactive
services per se!
