This bt + sky thing
is it true that they're being done for unfair trading thingy? Surely
they can't insist that a BT line has to be installed? As it is the guys who set ours up just waved the matter aside when I said we wouldn't get rid of TW line, but now my son has decided to go for a straight multiroom are they going to get funny with me for not having a bit line to connect him to? -- Paul (Demanding Billy Dolls, And other friends of mine) ------------------------------------------------------ Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

Can't say I've looked it up lately, but don't they just refer to "connection to *A* telephone line"? Surely they know that BT don't have the monopoly on Telephone Lines (and haven't done for years). As long as it's connected to a phone line that the box can dial out on (or receive incoming), then that's alright. So you could have a BT, C&W, Telewest, whoever as your telephone provider. -- Nige |

Hi there,
I read in the small print that you had to have a 'BT' line when we had Sky+ multiroom fitted in May so phoned them twice and told them we had a TW line they said that was fine the inference being you must have a telephone line which in days of yaw was of course a BT line as they were the only providers in those good old olden days? Tim. Thought I'd seen it somewhere, probably the same thing, some bumph at the bottom of a page or something. At least they're acknowledging that we don't need BT now -- Paul (Just like a feeling I need, it's no joke) ------------------------------------------------------ Stop and Look http://www.geocities.com/dreamst8me/ |

If you have multi-room they WILL require that both boxes are connected to the same telephone line, and they WILL check. Otherwise you could be paying just £10 a month for a £45 subscription which your mate is using at a different address. They don't normally check that a single, non-multiroom installation is connected though. |
