Freeview Newbie

Hiya,

Im thinking of purchasing a Freeview box for a friend of mine for xmas but
want to know more about it.

Is there some kind of subscription free? or is it literaly "Free", you buy
the box one off price and get the channels for free?

Many thanks

You buy the box, and then that's it, you get the channels for free - no
subscription.

Though you can get a Top Up TV compatible box, and that gives you a few extra
channels for a subscription, though I don't think Top Up TV is worth it.

If you want to record Freeview you should get a box with two scart sockets.
