DVD Recorders
Can anyone help me please. I have recently bought a Panasonic DVD Recorder but am finding it too complicated after using a Video Recorder for may years. My husband is away at the moment and I wondered if a DVD Recorder with hard drive would be any easier to use? Quite pathetic isn't it! -- Pam Gasson |
Pam - what are you finding difficult to use? I've just replaced by video
with a DVD recorder. "Pam Gasson" wrote in message ... Can anyone help me please. Alan Thank you for your reply. Firstly the fast forward is so slow, you have to sit there with your finger on the button or else it stops, it takes ages. If you have been watching and programme and leave it half way through, if you take out the D.V.D. until you want to see it again it goes back to the beginning. and you have to fast forward to where you left it. If you do not take it out but switch the set off at night it goes back to the beginning, and also if you want to record using Video Plus+ this is another complicated procedure. I have stopped using it now and gone back to my video recorder, I know recording with the video the picture quality is not so good as a D.V.D. But it is much quicker. On the DVD recorder I have, pressing FF once switches from normal speed to 4*speed, pressing a second time takes it to 8*speed, and a third time takes it to 32*speed. Might be worth checking if yours does something similar? |
Also if you want to forward more than say 5 minutes, then you should be
using a different button that forwards the track. Let me explain, say you record a program for 30minutes, it'll actually be recorded in six 5minute "chunks", therefore if you only watched half the program then forward 3 tracks. then use the fast-forward to get to your exact location. Please note mine records in 5 minute "chunks" - this is changable, your's may use a different time period. "Alastair Meiklejohn" wrote in message ... Pam Gasson wrote: Alan Thank you for your reply. The FF button you press it once it forwards double speed, press again and it is faster, press again and faster still, and so on and so on, until if jumps almost as fast as chapter skip. You should use the Skip button if you want to skip large chunks. I couldn't go back to VHS now. -- For South East Brum: http://www.south-east-birmingham.tk For Free £20 credit when you get refered to TalkTalk contact me via above site.
