Sky+ Problem

Over the last few weeks I have had problems with faile recordings -
particularly where I have started a recording by simply pressing 'R'
whilst a programme is on.

It seems to record OK at the time (I have even tried restarting it
from the planner while the programme is still on) and even shows as
"RECORDED" in the planner afterwards. But what I get when I play it
back is a totally different programme, and often only a very short
burst of that programme has recorded.

Curiously the programme that is recorded in its place is always
something that I have watched subsequently and sometimes even the
programme that was on at the time I entered the planner to watch the
recording.

And I often find that I get the 'Please Wait Whilst Previously
Recorded Programmes are Saved' message popping up when I try to change
channel even though I haven't been recording that channel. I think
this may be connected!

Anyone suffered similar?

Yes. Fixed by rebuilding free space.

Cheers.

Is that by the 'Rebuild Planner' option?

Although I don't seem to have an issue with Free Space at the moment -
all space seems to be accounted for.

I think so...anyway, it wasnt the other (destructive ) option there is,
something like 'reformat disk'.
It worked for me anyway, I had a recording that lasted for an hour when it
was recording but used 1% and was only 1 minute of the preceeding program
(after viewing it a few times it then just hung the sky box). I deleted that
(you should definitely delete any dodgy recordings before doing this) and
then did the rebuild.
