Livingston - all is forgiven...

When did Sky change their call centre to Bangalore? I've not subscribed
since some trees on adjacent land blocked my signal. Since they've now shed
their leaves and are to be repollarded, I decided to resubscribe. This has
been painful.

I dialed the call centre. I asked if there remained an option in between the
£13.50 value pack and the £19.50 family pack. I only want the basic
channels, plus Boomerang for my son. I was told there wasn't. I expressed my
belief there was more granularity.

The call centre drone asked me if I wished to subscribe to the "granularity
channel".

You couldn't make it up.

I am sure the last time I came across this word, it was describing the
texture of the surface of the Sun.
Anyhow I have lived in Manchester all my life and I confess that I had to
look up what it ment in that context:-

the extent to which a system contains separate component. (like granules).
The more components in a system -- or the greater the granularity -- the
more flexible it is.

I only get India when I've called after 10 pm, otherwise Livingston.

I get India all the time... I was transferred to Scotland once, when I was
calling to cancel my subscription.
Upon saying that I could understand the English of the Indian lady more than
the Scot..
