Dodgy Digibox???
Hi all,
I recently bought a quad LNB, which I used to replace my single outlet, and connected it to my main (subscription) box - no problem - and a second box I had hanging around which I put in my back room - no problem. However, today I connected a third box, a Panasonic TU DSB30, which refuses to cooperate. When I switched on the box, it showed the usual 'searching' type dialogue and then cut out. I has done this also on repeated attempts. I did manage to get to the install menu before it cut out - strength and quality are the same as on my other two boxes. I have also since tried the Panasonic box on the other outlet - same problem, although the box happily stays on if it is not connected to the dish. So could this box be incompatible with my LNB??? Thanks in advance! Mark |

The LNB will either be supplying a suitable signal or it won't be - the fact that other boxes work is your indicator that the problem does not lie there. It looks like the box has some other problem. |
Cheers for that. The strange thing is, though, that the box does NOT cut out
if it is not connected to the LNB - it just gives the classic 'No signal' message, and stays on indefinitely.... "Zero Tolerance" wrote in message ... Those Panasonic boxes commonly have a fault where the microprocessor chip locks up when it gets hot, and the box exhibits a 'stuck in standby' symptom or else it locks up, picture freezes and won't switch off or respond to any command. If the LNB signal is absent the processor is not doing much in the way of decoding the signal, loading the EPG etc. and so remains cooler and less likely to lock up. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

No, install a fan inside, only costs a few quid for a fan and installing is
simple enough. Steven. -- __________________________________________________ ___ __________________________________________________ ___ This e-mail, and any attachment, is confidential. I've got an old Pace which does the same thing. Annoying - sometimes it runs for days, other times you're lucky to get a few minutes out of the thing. |
