I got Sky in Jan 2003 and a week or two afterwards got a new card, so
that makes it about 20 months ago I got my new card, not 'less than
12 months'.


Your right, as mentioned somewhere on these newsgroups, I have a pretty bad
memory problem, so it could have been Jan 2003 and not 2004!

I have to write things down on paper and stick it to doors and things so to
remember things, that's if I don't leave things too long and then forget to
write it down!

Yes, early 2003 was the time. IIRC the original intention was that all
new cards would be issued before Christmas 2002 but Sky had problems.
I don't think that any V2 were issued more than 24 months ago.

Thanks for that info. I'll give it a try.


Apparently the card arrives very quickly (i.e. next day), so as you'll be
buying something that you've already got (/ will have), you may as well
unsubscribe 1st, and wait to see what happens to your card, you'll be the
1st of about 1/2 million if it doesn't allow access to ITV, Ch4 & 5. In the
unlikely event of your ex-sub card not giving ITV, Ch4 & 5 call then, as at
worst you'll be without ITV, Ch4 & 5 for a day or so!!

Do you want to buy a secondhand car from me? (£££££££££££££ me thinks)

Well well well!
I rang the number you gave me and the guy on the other end asked what card I
had, soI told him (the blue one with the yellow house on) and he replied
that would be exactly the same card he'd sell me! He then went on to tell
me the channels I'd get, and yes, they included ITV,4 and 5. I can't get
over what a lying bunch those operators were I spoke to previously. They
were absolutely adamant I'd lose those channels if I cancelled my sub.
I promptly rang customer service to cancel my sub and was offered a better
package for the same price as the Value Pack for 3 months - which I
accepted.
