Getting a FTA card

I've had a Sky+ box for a year now so I've fulfilled my side of the deal.
I've got my old box up in the loft.

If I wire up my old box and put my card in it it will work.

If I get my girlfriend to open a new sub for Sky+ I can then cancel my sub.

I can then cancel my sub and get FTA channels on the old box.

Will that work? Is there a simpler way of doing that?

Willl all progs already recorded on the Sky+ HD work with a new subscribers
card?

If you wire your box up, it will work and receive all the FTA channels without
a card, as they are Free To Air.

If the Viewing card is a 2nd generation one then you will be able to use that
and receive the FTV - Free To View channels, these being ITV, Ch4 and Five.

Not sure about already recorded programmes, someone else may be able to help!

? The "deal" is a minimum contract of 12 months but this has nothing
to do with the Sky+ which is sold without any strings attached.

Your Sky+ card? Yes. For the non-premium channels.

Yes. Sky say you aren't supposed to but......

FTV. Yes.

Yes.

You could just buy a new FTV card for £20. They will be available very
soon.

That's a really good question. I have no idea. I would guess "yes".
