Cheapest way to keep Sky+

Hi,

I've had Sky+ now for around a year now and I REALLY LOVE IT!!!

I've got a couple of babies and rarely view any sport of movies anymore. My
Sky+ planner is full of terrestrial tv such as BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel four
AND a few bits on Sky One.

As I see it I am paying £41 per month just to benefit from the Sky+ box as I
could get a much cheaper (if not free?) package to view the channels that I
watch.

My question is: What is the cheapest package available to still qualify for
Sky+?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

You can have Sky+ without *any *Sky TV channels at all. Just FTA/FTV

£10/m. I should know, I've done just that for three years now.

R U still able to use the Sky+ software eg recording prgorammes etc or
is that barred unless you pay the extra £10 sub?

My £10/m sub to Sky gives me full Sky+ functionality, but no subscription TV.
Only FTA/FTV (BBC, ITV-1, C4, 5, etc)

As mentioned, your cheapest option is £10pm for the (full) Sky+
service only.
But wouldn't a DTT recorder suit you better? Or don't you have
Freeview in your area?

hi

I think you have to realise that the $ky programs seem to cost a lot,
but when you think how many license payers there are you realise just
how much more money the BBC must have to play with ! I have Sky+ as
well and I guess I do watch more BBC than anything else. Are you
saying that you can NEVER find ANYTHING on the sky pay channels
though? I record entire series of things that would cost money to buy
on DVD, then the occaisional film that would cost a lot to buy/rent
on dvd. Dont get me wrong i agree that it's over priced but still just
about worth the cost. Don't forget that it's still the only way to
record the actual data stream from encrypted chanels, all other
devices have to re-encode it. I think there is also an element of not
wanting another grey box with all the associated wires and fiddling!

Simon
