Sky Digi Box and Broadband
I have placed a order for a broadband service, but it was rejected due to my
Sky Digi box being connected to the phone line. I have now had to disconnect it from the line, so that the line test will pass. Any1 else had this problem?? |

I have had several line tests due to regrades etc and have never ever had a
problem with the 2 sky boxes on my line. "Gareth Wells" wrote in message ... I just connected the digibox from the phone line. Sky complained but I told them it was a fault with their equipment and they could fix it if they want. They didn't and haven't pursued me any further. That was nearly 4 years ago. Only disadvantage is you can't watch the ppv events, sky box office or use some of sky interactive but not having that has probably saved me quite a bit of money |

It's been commented on many, many times that line tests can result in problem readings when unhelpful telephone equipment (such as telephones, Digiboxes and so on) is connected. I don't understand why this should be a problem - surely if the equipment is only using the line once in a blue moon then why is there a problem. Apparently though there is. How did you find out that your Digibox was causing the problem? Did your ISP suggest it? Gareth. |

Well I had not heard anything from Bt Yahoo for about 2 weeks after I
ordered. So I rang them and they told me that there was something in my home, that was no compatible with Broadband Services. I said that the only thing that was connected to my phone line was my PC, and my Sky box, and they said well that's it, So I have taken the Sky box out of the phone line and I am now still waiting for a second line test to be carried out. "Gareth Wells" wrote in message ... snipped Hmm, I wonder how the ISP knew that? They must have prior experience of Digiboxes causing line test failures when there's no reason for the line test failure. At least a bit of hope has been flagged up anyway - hopefully your next line test will pass. Gareth. |
