I've sold two on E-bay. Just check that they work, that's all - there's a
lot of crooks about.

Ebay is a splendid place to find all manner of slightly faulty items
masquerading as perfect (I think that all digiboxes that won't load V3
software end up on Ebay), and used items at prices often exceeding
those of new items in shops (I myself have sold several used DVDs
there for more than I paid for them new). When combined with PayPal it
is also a first-class method of paying money to someone who has no
readily verifiable identity or address and who may promptly do a bunk
with your money and goods leaving you obliged to rely on the goodwill
of Ebay and PayPal (ha-ha) to partially refund you.
Ebay is also full of stolen goods.
However amongst that lot you can also find decent items being sold by
decent private individuals at a decent price.

Ebay is for those who are astute and who can afford to lose what they
have bid. I've bought a few things on Ebay and haven't been stung yet,
though on two occasions I did have to invoke the dark powers of
Trading Standards in order to get my goods.
I wouldn't use PayPal under any circumstances whatsoever: it is a
thief's charter.

Bought a second hand Grundig for £39 plus postage from someone with loads of
positive feedback. Delivered & working within 48 hours. It was the first
time I used Ebay and I was very very impressed.

Of course, if that trade turned bad, I would never have used Ebay again.

Sold two on ebay and bought two SKY+ boxes on ebay. No problems.

I've bought a couple of digiboxes. One was fine & shipped quickly. The other
took a lot of nagging on my part to get it shipped to me (4 weeks after I did a
bank transfer) & then it arrived without the power cord or remote. An email
argument ensued in which he claimed that he had only been offering the digibox
while I held that the remote was an integral part & same features are
unavailable without one. Caveat emptor.

Bought a second hand Sky Digibox a couple of weeks
ago. Straightforward transaction, and the box is working fine.

Was the remote specifically listed on the auction? If not then it was
probably not included in the auction.
