My mother has just been in a modern hospital equipped with these sets that
include telephone & all sorts of other nifty technical stuff. Very impressive.

But expensive.

Why none of those complaining about the inability to turn them off has thought
of chucking a towel over the screen beats me.

Does that block the ventilation grill on the back of the screen,
thereby creating a fire hazard?

No, I think Sky's ideal vision of the future would be more akin to the scene in
clockwork orange where Malcom McDowell is forced to watch continuous TV with his
eyelids pinned back.

I was wondering which movie to watch tonight - you have made my mind
up.

Just been in Kingston Hospital for some surgery and they have these sets
fitted. I thought they were a godsend to while the hours of tedium. If
you really don't want to see them they're easy enough to swivel round
and put against the wall.

I used to prowl the ward switching the TVs to headphones for those
****s who ignored them and left the sound blaring at full volume. What
is it with the great British public, are we really turning into a nation
of ignorant, selfish ****wits?

Regards

Mark
