Sorry, no.

I quickly got into the habit of marking all programs as 'keep' once they
were recorded, then at least it asks for confirmation.

If they were on Sky channels, just wait a few hours, just like Arnie they'll
be back

You probably already know (but just in case), you can mark them as Keep as
soon as you add them to the planner, no need to wait until they've actually
recorded.

I did know that, but marking programs as 'keep' interferes with padding
settings with Dual Record in certain circumstances I think (can cause you to
miss recordings).

For example, I *think* if you record:

ITV 7:30 - 8:00 KEEP
BBC1 8:00 - 8:30 KEEP
SKY1 8:00 - 8:30 (no keep)

You might find that the Sky1 recording fails (it uses both tuners to handle
the overlap of ITV / BBC1, so no tuner is available for Sky1). I think this
only happens when keep is involved.

You can, but don't, it behaves oddly when dual recording and one of them
is marked as Keep.

If both programmes are set as keep it seems to fix this problem.
