Hi
Want to buy another Sky digi box from ebay.
Can i just connect it up and put my existing card into it ?
I seem to remember the card is locked to the box.
Any one through any light on this

You can put the existing card in it and it will work for most Family
Package channels. For Movies & Sports (&ITV2??) you will have to phone
Sky to get them to re-pair the card (which they will do without a fuss)

Just done that (although in my case I just bought a second SKY+ box from
ebay). You will have to ring up SKY CS and tell them that you wish to use
your card in another box. They will your card number, serial and model
number of your box. All the information are on the SYSTEM INFORMATION page
under SYSTEM SETUP.

SKY had to first "unlock" the card so that it worked in my new box then when
this was working they enable the SKY+ to allow the record funciton to work.

You Can't just plug it in sky are fusy as hell about it they will lock the
box and card out if you just simply plug it in, buy the box plug the wires
in and put the card in, press services on the remote, system setup then on
the remote press 0 then 1, then select go to new intstallation and do all
that if your channels are still locked out call sky tell them your old box
was faulty and you got a knew one and you need the card switching over they
will need the serial of the new box and card number then your ready to go.
