problem copying from SKY+

I'm trying to transfer from SKY+ to VHS. Despite following the SKY+ COPY
instructions, I can't receive any input to the Video-recorder. While the
COPY is proceeding, I can view the programme on the attached TV.

The system is set up as :-
SKY+ "VCR Scart" VCR "satellite scart" .
VCR "o/p to TVscart" TV "AV3 scart"

The VCR itself successfully records and plays back apart from in this SKY +
application.
I've tried different Scart leads.
If I connect SKY+ "VCR Scart" TV "AV3 scart" then there doesn't
appear to be any signal present.

Any ideas anyone?

Rgds, Tony

Perhaps the signal is protected by macrovision which will prevent VHS
recording but will work on the TV... ?

is there any way of finding out if it is Macrovision protected? The
programmes are the BBC Byte size GCSE revision guides .

See the FAQ for the correct connections.

It should be :

Sky+ VCR socket = VCR scart 1.

Sky+ TV socket = TV scart 1.

You do not connect the VCR directly to the TV.

That would suggest to me that theres a problem with your Sky+ box - the main
difference between the two scart outputs on the box are that the TV out also
has an RGB output - I'm not sure if when you have RGB selected on the
digibox you still get a composite output as well leaving the TV to sort it
out but if you don't then if you're feeding your VCR with RGB only (It
doesn't look as though youare though by your explanation) you won;t get a
picture on your VCR - you will however get sound whatever your set up -
perhaps you can use that fact to help you work out where your problem lies -
whatever - you should have no problems connecting the digibox VCR scart
directly to the TV - if you do then it must be the box.
