Pace (old) forgetting listings
Tell me I'm not the only one who's got a * revision digibox that's
forgetting it's listings constantly? It seems to have started happening as they've been updating box software. It's bloody annoying - seems to do it every few hours now. Cheers Dan. |
No you're not. Mine's been driving me scatty for the last month or so. Does
anyone know if there's a fix? -- Michael |

I wonder is Sky deliberately send down duff software to screw up our boxes so we all go out and but sky+. |

Heaven forbid - Sky+ - the + of course being for even more bugs :) When I rang to complain - I pointed out that they had made the service unusable as it randomly powers off, forgets listings etc. Obviously the head technical droid had me. 1. Check the cabling - had I had a new TV/VCR as they can mess things up (hahahaha) 2. Remove the card and power cycle the box. 3. Rub the card on my jumper as "static can build up on them" (and my nylon fleece top won't generate static!! 4. **** around for about half an hour before listening to me. At which point I pointed out that they had made 4 updates in the last month - as the EPG/OS versions had changed. When asked what they had done - and perhaps that this was the cause - he got all defensive - telling me that my box was faulty and I needed an engineer out. I pointed out that the box was on a filtered supply - even on a UPS (Sky, VCR are on one) - and that there was no way on earth the box had been damaged by lightning etc. and that the phone was spike protected so that wasn't the cause either. We'll see what happens next - but I'm starting to get so ****ed off with it that I think watchdog might get a letter.... Cheers Dan. |
