I think I read it was a (perhaps unintentional) side-effect of
dual-record. I'll try to find the link to where I read it.

I was referring to regular digiboxes

Forgot people still used those :-) (Actually I do have one as well
but its controlled by Tivo)

though even for the Sky+ a "last
channel button" is indeed the most useful addition that could be made
to the remote control functions.

IOn your opion. I think a one-button subtitle toggle would be much
more useful.

It has always been the number one request.

Where? Do you have any evidence for this? (and could you please
explain what it so useful about it? :-)

What about a Picture in Picture option.....

I always wanted a PIP telly when i was young!

Surely this is possible.

Try a search back on Google. This has *always* been the most requested
feature, bar none.

The usefulness is that with just one button push one can switch
quickly to a channel whilst waiting for the ads to end on another, or
for the desired programme to start.

Search for what exactly?

By whom? Give me some hard evidence please?

and you would want to do that because? I use a Sky+ and 3 Tivos - I
just fast forward through the adverts. Before I had these I did the
same with my VCR. I haven't watched an advert for years.

Try "last channel button" in the groups section.

As I said, do a search on Google and you will find many requests for
this. Far more than for any other feature.

You have an unusual setup. Others without such a setup would mostly
just like a last channel button. Most non-Sky receivers include such a
button, as indeed does the Tivo.

Obviusly if I search for that I waould find requests for that feature!

If I do a search for this feature I will obviously find more requests
for it than any other feature! If I search for a different feature I
will find more requests for that one.

Agree it is unusual to have so many, maybe :-)

Others without such a setup would mostly
just like a last channel button.

I've never yet anyone who has done this or asked for it.

Most non-Sky receivers include such a
button, as indeed does the Tivo.

And how many times have you used it on your Tivo?

NTL have it on their cable boxes and it can be very useful, especially
when flicking between, say, the latest football scores and a live game.

All the old analogue receivers that I have owned had this feature as does the
el-cheapo FTA digital box that I just bought. It seems that the digibox is the
odd one out here.
