Just need to clarify this please.

Just need to clarify this please. Mike Yes. But you need to turn on the buffer. It is off by default. It can be set to up to 60 minutes (5, 15, 30, 60 & off). Unlike TIVO however, it doesn't seem to keep the buffer running all the time. If you are watching a pre-recorded program, and then go back to live TV, SKY+ interprets this as a channel change, and clears the buffer. (Quite annoying). Nor can you pause a live show, then go to a pre-recorded show. Sky+ forces you to exit live pause TV first Using then this will also get rid of the annoying red dot on BSKYB channels. (pause for a second, then resume play) -- John To reply, change @freeserve.co.uk -to- @yahoo.com rant Made the mistake of believing Freeserve ads 'Use the Internet as often as you like, any time you like' What they really mean is once in awhile, but not to often, otherwise you get a nasty letter from Keith Hawkins Consumer Managing Director /rant |
Many thanks John

Many thanks John I should also point out that if you are recording two programs, you cannot pause. No recorder left to buffer with. -- John To reply, change @freeserve.co.uk -to- @yahoo.com rant Made the mistake of believing Freeserve ads 'Use the Internet as often as you like, any time you like' What they really mean is once in awhile, but not to often, otherwise you get a nasty letter from Keith Hawkins Consumer Managing Director /rant |

What I think I meant to say was that you cannot watch (and therefore pause) a third program. (Although since DR has been pushed people here have actually complained about that - They're never happy) -- John To reply, change @freeserve.co.uk -to- @yahoo.com rant Made the mistake of believing Freeserve ads 'Use the Internet as often as you like, any time you like' What they really mean is once in awhile, but not to often, otherwise you get a nasty letter from Keith Hawkins Consumer Managing Director /rant |

(Although since DR has been pushed people here have actually complained about that - They're never happy) I for one complained mainly only the fuss of DR..One would assume recording a programme was because you was unable to view it (out or watching another channel) DR has left us with the ability to record to two channels but taken away watching the channel we're watching (should a DR time come up whilst watching another) It just as annoying as when we got the recording clash with single record. Now *Dogless record* would be better,*Advertless record* better still :-) Sky charging a fortune for the box/subscription,Meanwhile companies actually give PC's away FREE if you promise to allow advertising on it... Mmm £800 PC FREE with Ads or Sky+ costing price of Sky+ plus monthly sub and adverts and red dots everywhere (Shows who the Scam merchants are) Who knows, give it another few years and Sky will be free if you promise to watch those annoying dross programme things in between those fantastic adverts :-/ |

Just stop one of the two recordings. It just as annoying as when we got the recording clash with single record. No, because you have a choice now. Now *Dogless record* would be better,*Advertless record* better still :-) Dogless watching would be even better. Very few doing that are still in business, and they were totally crap PC's AFAICR. Just stop one of the two recordings. Which defeats the object :-( It just as annoying as when we got the recording clash with single record. No, because you have a choice now. Of to still miss at least programme?? Perhaps with those four LNB inputs,There's always TWO Sky+ boxes but the price they charge for showing countless adverts...Nah! Now *Dogless record* would be better,*Advertless record* better still :-) Dogless watching would be even better. I'd agree there and I guess most other people would, There's certainly no need for them in this day and age of the EPG telling us what channel we're on not to mention after getting used to our usual TV channels KNOWING what's on anyway :-( Sky charging a fortune for the box/subscription,Meanwhile companies actually give PC's away FREE if you promise to allow advertising on it... Very few doing that are still in business, and they were totally crap PC's AFAICR. A new one again has just started :-) Sending 2.2 Ghz PC's out in February (I first spotted it on E-Bay,The usual seller selling the link to their site yet a simple search found it with no problem!) Mmm £800 PC FREE with Ads or Sky+ costing price of Sky+ plus monthly sub and adverts and red dots everywhere (Shows who the Scam merchants are) Error unable to parse sentence. O-K, The PC is FREE because the *catch* is advertisiments (and discs sent occasionally) to update the PC itself. The fact it's free because the *catch* is you have to view 3 minute adverts kind of shows Sky is conning subscribers by charging so much. Who knows, give it another few years and Sky will be free if you promise to watch those annoying dross programme things in between those fantastic adverts :-/ I'd rather pay money not to watch them (aka Sky+) I'd prefer it did'nt waste disc space by recording them (after all Sky says says along the lines "Make your own personal TV channel") |
