A Sadman December 27th 03 01:21 PM

I can complain on the grounds why have they let other non BT employees have
the discount and not me.

Sky can either sell me Sky Plus at £100 or loose my custom.

I would, but I don't think I've got the patience to hang on the phone

for
20
minuites again hoping to get through.

It was bad enough when I did try, especially with getting cut off twice.

I've tried e-mailing Sky complaining, not that I expect it to get me
anywhere.

snip...

I just tried ordering using this code & the operator got arsey,

wanting
to
know what letter this code appeared on, she said she could not

proceed
with
my order unless she knew.

The staff at Sky cannot win can they?
They get slated here for not knowing what to do, and when one does try and
do their job correctly, someone gets annoyed?

And as for complaining, on what grounds?
Someone has given a link/code, from what I can make out was for BT staff.
You don't seem to be BT staff, and yet you complain?

Next time you go shopping in a shop, don't forget to complain when
confronted to pay full-price and complain that you want a staff discount!

Some people....

Maybe that is why they have turned you down; THEY do not want YOUR custom.

I am sure Sky will not go into administration without you!

How do you know that they have not turned down other non-BT employees?

Thank you!
I was not sure if other's would agree.

I was certain that more vocal people may have argued differently.

Thanks to whoever started this one.
Wife bought me a sky+ box for Xmas but left the installation to me.
Phoned sky, they wanted £50 and refused to match the online installation
cost so I took the box back to comet and was surfing this ng while ordering
online with sky.

Phoned them, quoted the code and teh very friendly young lady told me that
was teh code for new customers not for existing ones upgrading. She then
proceeded to search for the code for existing customers and put it through.
She asked where I got the code(told her a friend) asked where they worked
and that was it.

It would seem some Sky employees dont like Mr Murdoch very much either!!!!

I think it shows very plainly that lack of CS training when even offers
that have negotiated for companies supporting SKY are then passed
onto "normal" subscribers.
If the CS staff were properly trained non of these deals open to BT employees
only etc would have been taken from people without the proper authorisation
and the CS staff would certainly would have been notified to stop taking orders
for refurnished units if the stock was running low.
SKY+ costs SKY far less than the £199 retail but a bit more than the
£99 they are going for right now:
It's rare that SKY subscribers benefit from SKY's incompetence:)

I think that those who work with him are the ones who like him least.

I have a friend who is an employee of BT, and he WASN'T aware of this
promotion.
Maybe it is only certain categories of BT staff who have been offered this,
making it more exclusive, therefore, why is it so widespread....

He is an engineer btw.

the offer was on the internal website and in the benefits section of the
internal newspaper. Everyone has access to these.
