We are really back at square one looking at it realistically,We wanted to record two channels whilst watching another but we can't...We have to switch to one of the recordings! If you want to record 2 channels whilst watching another, then Sky+ is not for you. Nor is there is other system that will do this. Perhaps you should get another digibox if you want that functionality. I think Sky already get way too much to start with for channels carrying advertising! Sky+ has 2 tuners, therefore if you are recording 2 channels, there is no tuner available for you to watch a different channel. You can watch one of the programmes being recorded, or any programme you have previously recorded. If the third programme was a terrestial one, you could be watching that through your TV's own tuner, of course. Oh of course,The point I was making was basically having to watch a programme we're recording anyway. All the DR upgrade has done (should two programmes be recording at the same time) is take away watching live TV from another channel. Simon Kempster |

Previously there was no way (stating the bleeding obvious here) to record onto the disc two different programmes at the same time so you could watch them both later. Now you can. You are obviously a 'glass half empty' type of person. -- Tumbleweed Remove theobvious before replying (but no email reply necessary to newsgroups) |

Well, just stop watching live television. I haven't watched live television for more than a year now -- --Bigarbel-- Check out my recent edit: http://www.bigar.co.uk |
I've noted also now,IF you have the pin number set to delete the recorded
programmes,This can now stop recordings (if say whilst at work the missus or kids press the cancel button to enable the box to go to the channel they want to watch) Take out another subscription with your old Digibox perhaps? i wonder how your family was able to survuve before there was Sky+ -- --Bigarbel-- Check out my recent edit: http://www.bigar.co.uk |
Have you tried a forced software download ??
Switch box off at electrics, hold down back up button, switch box back on whilst continuing to hold backup button down (we're talking the button on the unit here not the remote control). Hold button for about 10 seconds, all the lights on the unit will come on, hard drive and fan will kick in, you'll hear it and software download will commence. Once complete box will go into stand by and all lights will extinguish. Wait 10 seconds and then press sky button on remote. Box will search for listings then will switch to channel 998 when complete. "Holcroft" wrote in message ... "Uncle Keith" wrote in message ... In article , Tumbleweed wrote: I'm peeved, I want it! I haven't watched live television for more than a year now Impossible if Sky+ is recording from two channels and during the programme you've just started viewing asks you to switch to one of the channels your recording. Pausing live TV to rid us of the red dot CAN work out expensive with the HD wearing out as well. Thankfully it does'nt happen too often...Just annoying when it does. |
