Letters of Complaint

I'm on my third digibox in a month. They tried to replace it with a forth
today, but the recon box wouldn't even switch on. The engineer even stated
that recon models are terrible and never last for long. So anyway, its now
10 callouts in less than 2 years (5 boxes, 3 LNBs) and I'm now gonna write
them with one stinker of a letter.

My questions...

My original box (panasonic) was replaced after 9 months. I always thought
(statutory rights et al) that any faulty electrical equipment that went
wrong within 12 months (and could not be repaired) demanded a brand new
replacement. Is this not true? I had a recon.

What address should I complain to?

To shake sky up a bit, should I also forward copies to an official body
regarding the poor service and substandard equipment? If so, to
whom/address?

Thanks people.

We're on our fourth box in 3 months. Last time they came out they brought a
box that refused to switch on also. The engineer was so ****ed off he told
me that all 4 boxes have been recons and that I will only get a new one
after I have had 4 duff recons. "Normal Sky procedure" he said. We have an
old looking pace unit at present and it is ****. I will be calling them out
very soon.

It is up to you to accept a solution that suits you.

Actually they didn't say that it would be a recon... I only found out
afterwards.

Hi, I've just spent half an hour on the phone with a manager and she said
they NEVER give out a new box outside of the first week - even if you have 4
crap recons on the trot.

Here's one address

Thanks. I've actually got another one now (same address but postcode ends
in 7DD) that can be addressed to Caroline Conner, Customer Care Director.
Might be worth hanging on to...

I must be one of few,
Ive had my Digibox (Panasonic) somewhere around 5 years now as has my father
in law, without any problems...
My father in law bought his the same time, same box from same guy and he
never had any problems either, and my box is always plugged in and sometimes
is left switched on overnight..

My father in law never leaves his on, even unplugs it going to bed, every
night since he bought it...

We must be two very lucky Digibox owners.

Hope i havent spoke too soon, mine will probably die tomorrow

Regards

Steven.

In that case you can just demand a full refund and buy a new box over
the counter in Dixons for the same £199.

Don't believe what Sky CS tell you.

There's nothing to be gained from switching them on/off, and they'll probably
last longer if you just leave them alone, aside from changing channel.

And why unplug it overnight? Does he do that with his alarm clock too?
