Too big, too many, too often, too persistent.

I agree. It's the reason why I refuse to watch Sky News. Now News 21 has
suffered the same fate.

Is nothing sacred?! I didn't know they were going to change BBC World as
well as News 24. It's not as if BBC World came under fire in the
government report I mentioned earlier.

As you may know, there are joint bulletins overnight between the two
channels, hence the need to be consistent with graphics and presentation
across both.

And it animates too. *SIGH*

Oh, terrific(!)

On the plus side, it's actually brought the channel logo and clock together,
but on the bad side the "press red" is still in the same place (they could've
linked them together) and the huge red block is the same as they use for
trailers, so it's really disconcerting.

On the contrary I think the new DOG is an improvement - at least there is
one instead of two. Remember, there was a period when News 24 had a third
DOG advertising the website address.

I hope your maths teacher got the sack. There's an additional DOG insisting we
"press red". Whether or not you turn it off, it's still intended to be there,
and it floats in the middle of the screen at the top, instead of being tucked
with the other one.

The whole thing seems to be news for those with a sub-millisecond
attention span, and an infant-school reading age... :-(

And the new DOG is very annoying - and I'm not someone who is generally
offended by (most) DOG's.

Here are my views...

I like the new-look studio. The translucent glass behind the desk to the other room is softer,
hence less distracting and more pleasing to the eye.

The News 24 titles and short splashes (I think they are called "stingers") looks exciting and
interesting.

As for the on-screen graphics and worthless junk...... YUCK!

I just saw a report about drink-driving. They were mentioning the relative units of alcohol in a
meaure of Whiskey, wine, ale and lager and discussing how long you should wait for the effects of
each drink to diminish from the body....
I couldn't see which drink they were pointing to as there was a huge 82point bold helvetica type
with the words "DRINK DRIVING"
Absolutely stupid!

Yup. I thought the whole point of the revamp was to make it *less* like
Sky News? That's why it was criticised by the government.

Well, as Guto Harri is often wont to say "it`s a bit of a shambles".

The simple answer is to switch off the TV and pipe the audio through your
stereo and just listen to it. The pictures (what's left of them) add nothing
(except for weather forecast) - and you can get on with other things too...
