Is nothing sacred?! I didn't know they were going to change BBC World as well as News 24. It's not as if BBC World came under fire in the government report I mentioned earlier. As you may know, there are joint bulletins overnight between the two channels, hence the need to be consistent with graphics and presentation across both. |

On the plus side, it's actually brought the channel logo and clock together, but on the bad side the "press red" is still in the same place (they could've linked them together) and the huge red block is the same as they use for trailers, so it's really disconcerting. -- Dom Robinson Gamertag: DVDfever email: dom at dvdfever dot co dot uk /* http://DVDfever.co.uk (editor), http://LeilaniWeb.co.uk (editor), /* 959 DVDs, 266 games, 33 videos, 68 cinema films, 70 CDs, laserdiscs & news /* max payne 2, daewoo setpal, hamtaro, yesspeak, rainbow six 3, terminator 3 ITV "blackouts" on Sky Digital - http://tinyurl.com/w4mf (UPDATED) Adam Shaw to host HIGNFY! - http://tinyurl.com/w4m7 |

The whole thing seems to be news for those with a sub-millisecond attention span, and an infant-school reading age... :-( And the new DOG is very annoying - and I'm not someone who is generally offended by (most) DOG's. -- AJP |
Here are my views...
I like the new-look studio. The translucent glass behind the desk to the other room is softer, hence less distracting and more pleasing to the eye. The News 24 titles and short splashes (I think they are called "stingers") looks exciting and interesting. As for the on-screen graphics and worthless junk...... YUCK! I just saw a report about drink-driving. They were mentioning the relative units of alcohol in a meaure of Whiskey, wine, ale and lager and discussing how long you should wait for the effects of each drink to diminish from the body.... I couldn't see which drink they were pointing to as there was a huge 82point bold helvetica type with the words "DRINK DRIVING" Absolutely stupid! Brendan |

The pictures (what's left of them) add nothing (except for weather forecast) - and you can get on with other things too... KotF |
