How can I reduce subscription?
I've been a subscriber to Sky for quite a while now and have
just received a letter stating that my monthly subscription charge will be rising to £40 per month. With pay for films/sport will see my monthly costs going to around £70 per month. I have asked Sky if I can reduce this amount somehow to which they recommended reducing the channels - Sport and films which we use often. Anyone got any ideas on this subjects. Thanks Steve -- BYE, BYE INTERNATIONAL CALL CHARGES! Telephone USA, Aus and most of Europe from under 4p/min. 0870 794 7534 and just pay BT for National Call Rates! Anyone got any ideas on this Take a look at http://www.sky.com/skycom/allpackages and see which packages best fit in with your budget. I don't think price changes are reflected on that page yet though, but add a couple of quid to each and you'll be safe. Don't be misled where it says 'Sky Movies 1' and 'Sky Movies 2'. The former actually refers to Sky Movies 1,3,5,7,9 and the latter 2,4,6,8. Click the prices for the full line-up. -- www.affluxion.com Independent electronic music radio |

Thanks Steve £70 a month is quite a lot but I suppose everything is relative:) I assume you have mirror subscriptions which would account for the sub above the standard £40 SKYworld price. You should break down the costs to channel packages and other SKY services and then see which you are prepared to lose in return for a lower monthly cost. If you use SBO a lot then drop the movie packages for a few months at a time, if you are a footy fan the drop the sports for a couple of months over the summer. Mike C |

I know what you mean, why pay for the film channels when they will be on the free terrestrial ones within a year or so. Indeed why pay for anything when you can borrow your mates and copy them. Its your choice, pay or not as you wish. |

I could never see the point of doing this either, especially when the pay channels weren't even widescreen. Now that they sometimes broadcast in the original cinema aspect and in DD 5.1 (of which the free channels do neither yet) I can see much more point in paying. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these.
