Showview Recording

Hello, this is Robert.

Is possible to record a Sky Digital Movie,
using the showview code instead of the timer.

I have Ski Digital SATELLITE, with no personal recorder,
i have not thelephone line.

The problem seem to find the Showview Codes.

Any Suggestion ?

Best Regards.

Robert.

Since you talk of Showview I assume you are in mainland Europe, don't forget
we are an hour behind here, it might be easier to change the clock to UK
time!

Showview is called VideoPlus+ in the UK (it was launched in the UK before
mainland
Europe - it's called VCRPlus+ in the States where it was developed).

In theory it *is* possible, although depending upon the VCR you are using
and it's features, you
may have to remap the channel to Aux input, or reprogram it to change the
Sky
Box channel instead.

Plus codes are published in most UK newspapers and TV guides. Not sure
whether any websites actually publish the codes though, sorry.

You can find the UK Videoplus codes in several places but they won't
work properly on a Showview VCR, as I mentioned in another post in
this thread.

However, are you aware that the Sky+ autoview can be used to control
many recent VCRs? If your VCR supports auto-sat or auto-record then it
will probably respond correctly to the Sky PP autoview feature. Check
the manual. Failing that, you can use a Phantom PVR device (about £25)
which will automate the process for all VCRs.

Worse: continental Showview VCRs are, in my experience, incompatible
with UK Video+ codes and they just won't work properly no matter how
you remap the channels. You can of course use a UK Video+ VCR on the
continent and it will happily record DSAT UK programmes using UK
Video+ codes.
