Hi, I have connected an single optical cable from the sky plus to my Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum sound card optical in connection having set-up the volume control advanced properties to receive digital audio, without any success. my card has an optical in and out connection to receive digital sound, but I'm afraid my knowledge of cable connection is diminishing as the years pass.
My question is how can I get digital sound through to my computer my card is set up to an HT518 Active Home Theater Surround System.

Have you turned DD on in the Sky+ options?

Yes bbk I did do that first it seems to be set right but the problem continues, I may have to contact Creative for their advise.

Does the optical input on the Creative card not take a PCM digital signal
only, and not a DD one?

You also need to fix your sig seperator.
