Sky+ Dolby Digital fault??

I got Sky+ installed last week. Really happy with it apart from a problem
with Dolby Digital. If a program is being transmitted in DD then it takes
about a minute for the amp to pick up the DD signal.

Is my box faulty?

I thought it was my amp so I went out and bought a new Sony Receiver... £250
later and I find that it's not my amp at all but the sodding sky box! Oh
well, I needed a new amp anyway...

Is anybody else getting this problem, is it known about by Sky? I just want
a bit of weight behind me before I call them up (ie, so I can say "I have
got the missing DD problem can I have a new box" etc) rather than looking
ignorant :)

Thanks,
Russ.

They claim to know about the problem and are "working on it!" Hopefully, if
they ever get the dual record download sorted out, the sound will be sorted
out too.
Keeping on the same subject, anybody watch The Others tonight. the sound
seemed really really quiet. Was it just me?

Pete

Russ, I`m in similar position .Only just got Sky + installed last week, now I
am aware there is a fault with Dolby/d that SKy know about. I`ve phoned
them telling them I bought the box thinking I would get D/d as described .
They promised me someone would ring me in 3 days still waiting./ Just
mulling over what to do next . Dolby digital still off and on.Mostly off.

is the quality any good? i.e. as good as a DVD in dd?

I am quite happy with the DD5.1 audio so far on SKY D.
However I don't rent DVD's only buy them so I have never
nor will I ever watch a SKY movies broadcast when the DVD
is sitting on my shelf:)
The only movie I have watched on both SKY D and DVD was
SHREK, watched that on SKY Movies WS with DD5.1 last
xmas and it was stunning, so good I bought the DVD (R1 SE).
Only listened to the DVD using the DTS soundtrack though.
