another sky + question

Could you please help solve an argument at home!!!

My father seems to think that if you buy sky + and relocate the current box
and you pay the £10 mirror sub is it actually like having a second
subscription oir can you only watch what the sky+ is viewing, i say its like
having a seperate subscription and you can watch whatever you wanted
independantly on both boxes, other wise why would the adverts on sky show
the 2 clowns watching two completley different channels

secondly, with sky+ dual recording soon, does anyone know if you can watch a
3rd channel while recording the two shows????

any help gratefull so i can print iot of and dhow my father, sky +
subscribers preferred so its straight from the horses mouth as it were

Cheers
Chris

You can watch any channel you subscribe to on the second box - it doesn't
matter what the Sky+ box is showing

secondly, with sky+ dual recording soon, does anyone know if you can watch

3rd channel while recording the two shows????

AFAIK, you won't be able to watch a 3rd channel - there are only 2 feeds
from the dish - but you will be able to watch a previously recorded
programme whilst recording 2 others.

You can watch a 3rd channel if you have another box and another mirror sub.
There are 4 feeds from the dish, 2 for the sky+ box plus 2 spare.

There are only two tuners in the Sky+, so you will be able to watch
one programme while recording *one* other, or watch a previously
recorded or currently recording programme while recording two...
