Record two channels at once
Hi,
The SKY+ web site says that recording two channels simultaneously is 'coming soon' - does anybody have an idea when. Is there a way to pause, rewind and replay live action whilst recording another channel - or is this related to the point above. John |

Its already overdue, so who knows when it will materialise? Is there a way to pause, rewind and replay live action whilst recording another channel - or is this related to the point above. Yes, you can do that already. I assume you'll still be able to do that while recording two channels when the software upgrade comes, but perhaps not? Brian |

I wouldn't have thought so (unless the live action we're talking about happens to be one of the two channels being recorded), as that would surely require a third tuner. In fact I can't see how you'll be able to even watch another channel live if two are currently being recorded. I hope someone points out I'm wrong! It's been "coming soon" since I had my sky+ box nearly two years ago. Is there a way to pause, rewind and replay live action whilst recording another channel - or is this related to the point above. As said elsewhere, yes you can do that. You can set a buffer to continuously record, which can hold up to 60 minutes of video. As soon as you change channel though the buffer is lost, you can only rewind what you are watching if the sky+ box has been on that channel for the length of time you want to rewind past. The dual recording facility will mean that you can only watch a recorded channel ( which includes one of the two channels that you ARE recording. ) So, the rewind will also work in this instance, since by definition the program you are watching has been recorded. I would guess that the delay in the dual recording is down to getting the user interface right rather than problems with actually making the recording, since you won't be able to browse channels, look at the guide, etc etc ( I wouldn't imagine. ) -- Sig demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass... |

My guess is that you'll get a blue box telling you that to watch live TV you'll have to stop recording one of the two programmes, then if you press Select you'll be prompted as to which one.
