Does Radio require a card
"FieldMaster" wrote in message ... Considering switching to Sky+ and would like to use my existing digibox as a "radio receiver" (very poor DAB signal in my area) Particulary interested in the BBC stations Would I require an additional subscription or will it work without a card? Only TalkSport will need a card, everything else should be ok. Norman --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). I think the answer to this has to be, pull out the card and see? If you need a freeview card for the old box, why not just ask the Beeb for one? Rick. |

The BBC no longer issue cards since they went FTA in July, you don't even need a Sky box to watch or listen to, any BBC channels. |
I find the digibox to be a most excellent radio receiver. I have not card.
The channel range is great (for me) and the signal quality seems to be better than fm and dab's dodgy bit rates. Good luck Matt. "Rick Maninov" wrote in message ... "FieldMaster" wrote in message ... Pull the card out and see what still works - then plug it back in when you've finished. |

Because: 1) There is no such thing as a Freeview card for satellite. 2) FTV cards are no longer any of the BBC's concern. As mentioned, only one or two radio channels require a card. The others are FTA. Links in the FAQ. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. One thing to note though, theres a heck of a delay, don't try having sky radio in one room and putting on a regular radio in another room, the effect is quite weird! I even get this effect when using 2 seperate sky boxes, just no so obvious.. Mat |

If you need a freeview card for the old box, There aren't any subscription channels on digital terrestrial (Freeview) at the moment, so no card is required. However, the original poster was asking about digital *satellite*, so this is irrelevant. why not just ask the Beeb for one? The BBC don't issue any viewing cards of any sort. |
