A DVD version of a movie has probably gone through more mastering processors than the print used for digital broadcasting, it wouldn't be too surprising that the DVD soundtrack was better. There is no reason why the standard Dolby Surround/Prologic audio would be worse on the SKY+ than any other digibox, you could argue that if you take the digital feed via the optical output you should get better performance especially if the amp has PrologicII.
