Why in the hell dont SKY+ give people a bigger hard drive, ie more than 40GB
Im butying one, but I wouldnt have an inkling how to install a bigger one
limesome on the NG have
Evdentually theyll release a SKY+ box with a bigger hard drive and well all
have to buy again?or will the eengineer be able to come round and install it

Why? Will the older ones stop working when the new model comes out?

YOu could always do it yourself. The labour cost of the upgrade would cost
more than a disc probably.

Remove mains plug.
Remove STB cover using security Torx bit.
Remove hard drive retaining screws using same bit.
Remove IDE and power cables.
Connect IDE and power cables for new drive.
Insert drive and tighten screws.
Replace lid.
Connect power.
Perform full system reset.

It really shows HD recorders will never really catch on as the programmes
recorded are only there until the drive is full,DVD Writers are the way
forward :-)

I can't really imagine filling my HD on my PC and then upgrading every time
it's full (Not unless HD's come down to the same price as DVD R's or cheap
enough to make them removeable drives within a caddy)

Mines on its way so bye-bye to giving Sky £10.00 to be able simply press
*record*

( I NEVER record dog-ridden Sky channels anyway to put on DVD!)
