Sky + - can existing card be re-enabled?
Hi,
what's the procedure for upgrading to a Sky+ box outside of doing it through Sky? ie: Could I simply buy a Sky+ somewhere and re-mate the card to the it (like you can do with a normal digibox) or I would I need to call Sky, tell them I got a Sky+ box and ask them to send a new card? Gav |

You need to call Sky. They send an authorisation signal to your viewing card that enables the rec/playback functions on the Sky+ box. Without this the Sky+ box acts only as a normal Digibox. |

You don't need a new card but you do need a quad or twin LNB. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. Cheers, should be relatively hassle free then. So long as a phone connection really isn't needed (that's why I'm not buying the box from Sky direct) I'll be a happy camper. Gav |
