Bye Bye Sky - for good - FTA + FTV is well enough

Bye Bye Sky - for good - FTA + FTV is well enough

I'm 5/6ths tha way through a half price offer for "repeat movie" movieworld,
but even at half price the sky packages are just not worth it. I'm throwing
in the towel a month early. If they offered just ppv movies I'd be prepared
to pay say £8 / month and £5 for each movie watched. But the programmes on
all of the rest of the advert ridden channels are hopeless in comparison to
the bbc. e.g. just take a look at the fantastic prog quality on Ch4 this
evening, Hitler etc. I just want to pay for terrestials, radio, + good
movies occasionally and don't want my kids brains rotted with all the sky /
cartoon channels. Am I alone?

Nope.

I have 33GBP a month more to spend this year, and feel all the better
for it. Haven't missed Sky at all.

I cancelled the movies since I got Sky+. There is just too much good TV to
watch now that I never miss anything. And yes, if a programme is worth
watching, 9 times out of 10 it will be on one of the free channels.

Certainly not, I aggree with you. Sky offering is rubbish unless you like to
watch sport.
One thing I noticed recently is that all the people I know who are tv sports
addicts don't actually indulge in any exercise at all and are mostly
overweight.....

No. I don't subscribe to any of Sky's channels. Someone described their
output to me as 'Video Spam'. I think that's about right.

Sounds just like those US spammers to me, they have nothing to do but
sit round on their big fat arses all day, hoping the world owes them a
living, still, they don't get benefits, like on wife swap do they
