Sky+ Quick question

If I set Sky+ to record say an extra 20 miutes at the end of a program can I
later 'chop off' any extra recording time in order to save disk space?

If I want to save 15 minutes out of a recorded program (on the Sky+ HD) can I
do this?

20 minutes is only about 1.5% of disc space so unless this is likely to
happen frequently, i cant see you'd need to do it. If it is likely to happen
frequently, upgrade the hard disk.

Only by pressing record & stop at appropriate times on your recording
device. You cant 'cut out' a selection within the Sky+, its just not that
sophisticated. Once you have recorded something, all you can do is watch it
or output it to a recording device. Ask the Tivo fanatics here, they'll
probably tell you that not only can Tivo do that, but it will know
automatically which 15 minutes you wanted and not only select that portion,
but choose similar sections on other programmes as well, and cook a meal
that you can eat whilst watching its selections.

The Sky+ box really isnt for storing programs for the long term, unless
maybe you put a very large hard disk in it yourself, and even then its
limited to about 60 hours (120Gb disk?).
