Whats in the Sky+ pack?

I'm having Sky+ installed this friday ... yippee!

Can anyone let me know what's in the box in terms of leads, so that I know
what to buy up front. In particular:

a) LNB Down Leads to plug into back of box - I assume the installer sorts
that out

b) SCART leads - any if so how many

c) Optical digital lead - wishful thinking?

Cheers,

Nigel

The LNB doesn't come in the box now.. He has the quad in a separate box.

Sadly, One Scart, One Phone lead, One remote, One Power Cable, One RF.

The downlead is interesting, the installer can either wire another standard
cable. Or in my case, wires a new Twin Mini CoAx. Fits through the same hole
as the single cable.

Hint for your install, he was going to wire another single, and asked if I
had any problems, I said some vandals had cut my cable in the past and an
independent put that new one there, but it isn't very good. At this point he
got a nice real of mini twin coax out. No Problems.

Let me know how you get on, this installation engineer was infact, as sky
go, very good at his job.

Oh BTW, No optical cable....

Nah, must be a one off.
The twin cables works just as well as the single core, no problems
whatsover, I have about 80% signal strength and about 75% quality on
both inputs, which I have no qualms about.

Jomtien is quite correct, the twin cable is no good for longer runs.
But it is , as you know, more than enough over shorter distances. Sky will
not use it for runs greater than 30m.

Try using it over a long distance. And let's see how it is in 10 years
time when the cores have corroded a bit and the dog/baby has chewed on
it for a while.

I regularly do cable runs of over 50m (I like to hide dishes in the
garden or on out-buildings to keep houses looking nice) and I have
found that twin-core cable just can't do the job that regular cable
can. It's OK for very short runs though, I suppose, but I wouldn't use
it even for that. I only use the best cable I can buy though my
supplier also sells cheaper cable that many other installers use.
