Ok - just rang and ordered sky+, and getting it installed on 18th October -
as away till then - and still get if for the £1. Plus it gives me the option
to see what happens to pricing in October.

Anyway - when I mentioned about the 2 premier channels and the rumour about
the 2 movie channels combining - the guy - Steve - went away, and came back
and said that its a free monthly - no £10, as my package is over £30, that
seem to be the cut off point. Also, he had not heard about the movies
combining, but this could be skys way out of it - have a minimum package
spend.

Anyway - not heard this before, unless I have missed something.

The movie channels have been branded as separate entities mainly
down to the different contracts they were obtained under, one was
SKY and the other came from BSB.
With the recent ending of those contracts and obvious renegotiating
from BSKYB there is no need to keep them separate and it's been
rumoured that the movies will be under on banner.
This of course could very well mean that if the two premium channels
option is maintained for "free" SKY+ previously having Max and
Premier will no longer suffice.

It isn't - the "cut-off" point is having 2 or more premium movie or
sports channels.

Which, if you look at the package chart, you'll see is all the packages
over 30 pound a month.

But you can probably reach 30 quid a month and still not qualify -
hence the difference

Isn't it 2 channels out of SS1, SS2, SMM and SP or a package
above £30? I'm not too sure where Sky Sports World Value
Pack at £29 fits in though. All the other 2+ premium channels
are at least £30.

All I was trying to say was I'm not sure where Sky Sports World
Value Pack at £29 fits in though when you read the press
release below. I think this is the only package that has two
premium channels and is less than £30. Although I think the
actual T&Cs don't mention anything to do with £30.

http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir...script=415&lay
out=0&item_id=446378

Details of Sky+ costs:
** To qualify for free a Sky+ subscription, a customer will need
to subscribe to a Sky digital package that includes two or more
of Sky's premium sports or movie channels (excluding free and
stand-alone premium channels), i.e. package options 1A-6K
inclusive in the Sky digital subscription contract. Sky premium
channels are Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Movies Premier
and Sky Movies Max and eligible packages cost from £30 per
month.

Well, there's a contradiction there, isn't there? Someone made a
boo-boo. As I've read it, it's just the 2 premium channels that is
the requirement. Unless someone's getting ahead of themselves, and
that's what it's going to be come 1st January. How about this
scenario: Sky World £38 now, Sky+ fee waived 1st October, Sky World
£40 on 1st January. Plausible?
