Hello All,

Here is some info that might help others..

I am an ex-pat living in the south of France. A couple of years ago I
installed sky to receive the FTV channels. I have a friend in the UK who
was never going to get Sky and he didn't mind my using his address to
register for a Solus card.

A few days ago I decided to pout. After wiping the lipstick from my TV
screen, I logged-on to the Pout web site and started the Reg process...

I entered my name and his address. However, he was not so keen on letting
me use his telephone number. So, I typed in the number of a taxi service in
his area (with the same STD code).

When it came to the payment options, I had a choice to make. I had
cancelled my UK MasterCard a few months back, but I still have a UK bank
account. I thought about using Direct Debit but, from what I could make
out, this would involve sending something through the post, and I never saw
any mention of DD in the NG posts. Also, the bank account has my correct
address here in France.

As I thought I would be loosing ITV, C4 and C5 in the near future anyway, I
decided to use my French VISA card. The registration failed. I ran though
the process again, changing the name (I couldn't remember if I had used
'Mike' or 'Michael'). The process failed again.

Next morning my card had been switched off.

Two days later, a new V2 card was delivered to my friends house with a
letter saying "We are sorry you have been having problems with your Sky
viewing card. We have enclosed a replacement".

So to recap:

I used a bogus telephone number;
I used a French VISA card;
I haven't paid anything;
I have a new V2 card.

This should give hope to anybody else in the same situation.
