Theres a difference I havent seen mentioned. YOu can't record radio with
Sky+. Dunno why but it just wont let you.

Well, it is good that you haven´t seen it mentioned anywhere since you
actually can record radio programs.

All radio programmes are recorded in 'basic' (by Tivo) as the picture
doesn't matter and the sound's unaffected.

Yes you can. That's probably why you haven't seen it mentioned.

I understand you can with a manual record, but it's not as good as a season
pass :) There's loads of excellent stuff on BBC7.

I think i'll stick with the Tivo for the time being and

most probably).

If you have a package that includes premium channels why not keep the
Tivo and get the Sky+ too? Apart from the purchase cost and LNB/cable
replacement it won't actually cost you anything. Your Tivo will
continue to work normally and you will be able to record one thing on
Sky+ and other on Tivo at the same time.

Yes. The Sky+ records the datastream as broadcast. It is a perfect
copy of the original transmission. It can never be equalled by any
sort of recorder that re-digitises the output from a digibox.

Only by setting the recording up manually by time.

But not from EPG (see DM's message above). the error message on sky just
says 'you cant record audio' when you try from EPG which isnt exactly true
it seems.

It will. You will need to use the two boxes intelligently of course
(ie not set up Sky+ recordings whilst the Tivo is recording something
as you would then record the OSGs) but that shouldn't be difficult.

I don't think I've heard "Sky Movies" and "high-quality" used in the
same sentence before :-)

Sky+ has no OSG when you are recording (unless you have set it to tell you
it is running low on space). The only way you know it is recording is the
red light on the front of the box.
