Sky+ Installed Today...

there's a full list of channels in Sky+ Series Links

http://www.plusworld.co.uk/

1) Is there any online info to say what channels/programmes currently
support series link, or shall I just rely on whether that icon appears

when
I select a programme?

Programmes? No. Channels? See the links in the FAQ.

Yes.

2) Why doesn't A-Z of programmes (it's A-Z of Movies that I'm actually
after) work over seven days? It would be useful to spend 10 mins or so
setting up recordings of all the films that week I want to see, then watch
them at the weekend or whenever. As it is, it only seems to be 24 hours
ahead.

Too much data.

Not that I'm aware of. When you put it in the planner, the series
link button will appear if the link is available. Maybe someone else
knows differently.

The A-Z always only works over 24 hours. It's tedious enough as it is
- you really don't want it to be 7 times longer. If it's just the
films you want to look at, just use browse the films section in the TV
guide.

Hope that helps.

Is the A-Z listing of programmes the same one you get on a standard
Sky box? If so, it must be an absolute nightmare on a Sky+ trying to
browse through looking for things to record, as I believe the list
includes every single channel on the EPG, including all those to which
you do not subscribe.

The Sky A-Z doesn't include the FTV channels, does it? I admit that
since I got my Tivo I rarely look at the Sky EPG and have never used
the A-Z listing.

Well, if they could make the lookup a little more intelligent, that would help. Say if
you could enter three or four initial letters.

Tivo...........

Funny,

TIVO seems to be able to handle ~20-30 days of data.

Tivo's data is stored locally on the hard drive. Sky's data is
broadcast permanently and cached in RAM.
