Aren't ALL tricks fake?

Do you really believe a magician can actually saw people in half and put
them back together again?
It is probably nothing more than a very clever illusion.

Brendan

That is to say, Mr Blaine's "stunts" are illusions rather than feat's of
endurance.

In article , says...
Channel 4 will be streaming the whole event live on a special website
and will be filming the event for broadcast as part of their Magic Month
season in October."

Sounds mildly more exciting than the entire coverage of BB4.

Couldn't that be "in the River Thames" ? At least then we wouldn't have to
look at the stupid idiot for six weeks.

You really shouldn't make such 'glub' remarks... very glub, glub, glub....

Nothing wrong with doing a balducci levitation.

Plenty wrong with using a camera edit to achieve levitation.

Such as?

Bloody hell - even Paul Daniels would never use camera trickery; There's no
skill at all (except from the editor).

Do you think "The Matrix" was magic?

A good trick is fun to watch, even if you know how it's done.

Seeing David Blaine waving his hands about and then jump-cutting to
the hysterical reaction of the onlookers - while not showing any
actual "trick" at all - is just crap.

Do you think either are anything but entertainment?

No, they do show the levitation but apparently they ask the people to
watch again and see "how it could have been done" - then shoot the
scene from behind them so the camera can show a convincing shot. All
the second shots I have seen are from elbow height, so it could have
been re-shot with actors anyway.

Are you sure about Paul Daniels? IIRC he made en elephant 'disappear'

It was a large mirror trick. Only the mirror moved.

Nick.
