24 - episode 24 - why the schedule change
I was looking forward to viewing the final episode of 24 last night on BBC3
and was very disappointed to see that it was not being shown. After a rock steady slot since this series began, I wonder what benefit the BBC was intending by leaving the final episode till next week(10th), in what would normally be the repeat slot. They are then repeating it on Monday 11th. WTF? Any ideas? |

Presumably to avoid annoying the vast majority who can't receive it and get told the twist at the end by the fortunate few who can! |

Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to premiere each show on BBC2 and then show the repeats on BBC3? I presume BBC2 might have some sort of "seniority" over BBC2 due to its age and availability. I never did understand why BBC3 got the first showing. Weird! (IMHO) Perhaps I'm just too pragmatic and not as "right-on" as the trendy Beeb;-) |

To get people to watch BBC3!!!, they also ran with the idea of
showing eastenders on bbc3 before bbc1 So they try to encourage people to watch BBC3 and then pull the rug from under them by withdrawing an airing at the 11th hour (in the series as opposed to actual time). This is even more bizarre. I think they should stop trying to be so bloody clever and just deliver a reliable service/schedule rather than one full of surprises. I also notice that Spooks has vanished altogether from BBC3, even though the final episode on BBC1 is a week from now. It was being shown a week in advance on BBC3, wasn't it? I've already seen tonight's BBC1 episode, last week. Is Spooks also falling into the trap of not showing the finale early, and in this case not repeating it at all? This seems to me to be less an organised plan and more a disorganised mess Great, so now spooks next week clashes with dead ringers. This is dam anoying of the bbc. Guess its going to be a chance to try out digitv's mux recording (dttv as opsosed to sky). Jaime |

I'd started downloading it a couple of weeks before BBC3 showed the penultimate ep, and it was taking oh so bloody long (did only one person have it?!), and then wasn't going to bother when I saw it on BBC3's schedule but when I saw it disappeared I forced the download to hurry up (isn't there a way to automatically force a Kazaa download to keep searching for more rather than only on a manual basis?) Use Kazaa Lite K++ www.kazaalitekpp.com Or suprnova.org and bitorent. |

This seems to me to be less an organised plan and more a disorganised mess IIRC one episode of Spooks on BBC1 was pre-empted and shown the following week, but the BBC3 showing still aired. So I assumed that the BBC3 showings finished 2 weeks before the BBC1 showings instead of 1 week before. -- Carl |
