WARNING---DVDPacific credit card fraud
I have another £300 charge this morning -on a NEW reissued card with a NEW number.
Phoned my bank and they've said they will have to block the card again but they could NOT stop further charges from wbsale.com (or anyone else) if it's a 'recurring charge'. They offered me ANOTHER new card but admitted any charge to my original card would STILL appear if it was a 'recurring charge'. "So what's the point of issuing it"? I asked the guy. It's "One of 3 options". I asked "What's the other 2 options?" - he said "Not blocking the card" and "Do nothing and use the card as normal". Not great options. They've said it could take 90 days to sort. I'm still waiting on my old £280 refund which has not been given back and has never appeared online but they 'have a copy of it'. How the ****ers can charge me when I can't see the charge is beyond me. Looks like I'll be stopping using Egg.com as they have been ****ing about with this since 8 August. www.dvdpacific.com has caused me a lot of bother lately. -- DVDs **£2 OFF SALE** http://tinyurl.com/143w CD WANTED: Journey: Essential Journey (2CD) |

I had one yesterday as well £230.01 I phoned First Direct today and they are issuing a new card with a new number (bloody 5-7 days though) I asked why my card wasn't stopped when I reported the Diage.com fraud. I returned a signed declaration and included a copy of the DVDpacific letter of admission. They basically said that they would bollock the person who processed my refund for not escalating the matter and stopping the card. She said that they were only made aware of it yesterday and actually mention DVDpacific by name without prompting, I told her that people on this NG had reoprted the fraud to First Direct over a month ago. I will include the first NG posts that mentioned informing First Direc/HSBC in early August. She did say they were inundated with calls in her first hour yesterday from people with wbsale.com charges on their statements. To be honest apart from not cancelling the card in the first instance, First direct have been great, the first £19 diage charge was refunded within 3 days of sending my declaration back. I was reassured that there was no liability on my part and that my new card statement will have my old charges carried across with the new charge and the refund for it. She said that it was now up to wbsale.com to investigate if they think the refund isn't right. God, imagine if the did :o) ? God, imagine if the did :o) My point is, card issuers [Visa anyway] can't stop a company recharging your account (doesn't matter if you change your card/number) until they have done a full investigation and then passed it to Visa's handling company. I was told this could be 90 days. This is why so many people have been getting hit again -it's just a repeat of August's charges. It's recurring and will be again next month if Visa (not your bank) don't get their finger out and stop wbsale.com and the others involved. I've not cancelled my card as there's absolutely no point. I put a temporary block on it and told their investigations dept to phone me so I can ask why it's taking so long and why they didn't stop the 2nd charge themselves (which they can't actually do -but they could of informed me). Of course, I could be wrong if this isn't a recurring charge and DVDPacific has been loose with their security again. My bank reckons it's a recurring charge though. I have destroyed any other card info I had at DVDPacific just in case. -- DVDs **£2 OFF SALE** http://tinyurl.com/143w CD WANTED: Journey: Essential Journey (2CD) |

DVDPacific has been loose with their security again. My bank reckons it's a recurring charge though. I have destroyed any other card info I had at DVDPacific just in case. My CC details say "XXXX XXXX" in the CC number, is this normal? I guess I could enter crap numbers into the CC field, only when I plan to purchase anything change it to the correct numbers, then back again to crap once I bought the items. |

Won't they just get an invalid card number error when they try to submit a charge to your old credit card number? I just messed about with the numbers/names etc. Saved fine. |
