its just a generic one, cost about £5

That's your problem. You are _not_ converting RGB to s-video. Your digibox does
not deliver s-video on the SCART. You are just delivering composite to your
projector. What you need is a proper RGB to s-video convertor or better still an
RGB to VGA convertor. These cost 50-100 pounds.

Probably, if it does what it says. However, I have no idea of the
conversion quality (it doesn't 'look' that great).

What I do know is that you are taking the best signal the Sky box can
produce (RGB) and down-converting it (S-Video). You would be much
better up-converting RGB to component.

too much - the rgb to component lead is very expensive. if i can get a
noticeable improvement for about £20 that would do me!
