I was wondering if anybody had any experience of the cheap speakers they are
currently selling lidl?

moreover I guess is what kinda thing should I be looking at when buying some
speakers for my TV/DVD/Video set up?

As you say they are cheap speakers, I would assume just like any others in
that price range.
What I did notice is the description does not mention the center speaker.
As there is one in the picture just make sure it is magneticaly shielded if
you buy.

My brother bought a set of these speakers from Lidl.... and after he
unpacked it, he noticed it didn't have a dolby digital decoder included..
It just had inputs for the speakers and speaker output. (no co-axial i
think)

He recently returned the purchase and got a refund......

I would recommend the 'Pacific HCS 101' from ASDA... (£69)

It has a decoder included, and Co-axial and Optical inputs,... also allows
TVand AUX phono inputs, so you can play cd's, watch TV in 5.1 (simulated)
Very impressive indeed... Warm sound.. although no EQ (just presets like
Jazz, classic etc....) but a great sound none the less.

You can also control using the remote, all seperate volumes for each of the
5 + sub (5.1) speakers.. very useful in getting a balance in levels.

I've been amazed at the impact of 5.1 when watching films or listening to
DVD Music (like Super Furry Animals and Flaming lips 'Dolby 5.1 DVD' albums)
It is definately worth investing in and purchasing.

Anyway, hope you found this info useful.
