Odd problem with wide switching.
I have been tinkering about with my plasma (37PA20B) & connections etc to
find the best possible picture. It was using RGB but the picture was good but not great (I'm not really a fan of RGB anyhow) so I put an s-video lead on via one of the scarts (only one scart end etc) & found I could only get widescreen switching on BBC1?? Do they use line switching instead of pin switching? Anyhow, the s-video picture was miles better than RGB, but very strangely I changed the sky box over to PAL instead of RGB & enables the 3d comb filter & the picture is stunning. So I'm running it in composite mode & it's amazing. There are no fuzzy edges as the 3d comb filter eliminates them totally! Strange but true! Nige |

Not sure - I'll have to give it a try later on my LCD Anyhow, the s-video picture was miles better than RGB, but very strangely I changed the sky box over to PAL instead of RGB & enables the 3d comb filter & the picture is stunning. As my Sky+ isn't here yet I'm in a temporary setup with the old Sky digibox connected via composite to my thomson 27" LCD. The picture is amazing - brighter and more natural than RBS with zero colour bleed, no red push and virtually no fringing even on text! The TV has a comb filter built in so this must be part of the reason it looks so good. -- Patrick iChatAV id: patricknavin http://www.patrick.navin.btinternet.co.uk/B834763868/ |

Why can't everyone else on Sky Digital use line switching? -- Can I draw you a beer, Norm? No, I know what they look like. Just pour me one. __________________________________________________ ____ |\ /| ark Fraser www.mfraser.ukgateway.net | \/ | Somerset /Using !Pluto on an Acorn SA RISC PC | |___________/You know what the sig means! |
