Komplett murder my christmas

After waiting from the 2/12 for my projector and screen I'm finally told
today that the "3 day backordered" actually means it will be sent on the
22/12 from Holland. Understandably I aint having my setup for xmas which
made me a tad upset.

Now due to budget constraints I've got only 175 quid for a screen which must
be a pull down 200cm by 117cm WS screen.

Anyone know where for a similar price I can get a screen the same dimensions
and promise me for xmas. I know it isn't much for a screen but I blew an
extra 400 quid on the PJ going from the ae-200 to the ae300 and was going to
get a better screen next year.

Any help to save my christmas would be appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't solve your problem but for anyone else thinking of using
Komplett I also placed an order on 2nd Dec for an underwater camera housing.
Backorder was also three days. I got an email estimating they would ship to
me on 8th Dec. Today, on the 16th, they still have not shipped and the
online order status has not changed since the day I placed the order. They
have ignored two emails and an attempt last week and today to contact them
by phone has resulted in a recorded message saying they are not answering
the phones.

Perhaps my stuff is coming on the 22nd too but I've got no idea what's going
on. Quite frankly they seem bloody useless to me.

You won't get a quality anywhere near better than a blackout blind without
spending hundreds. Even then, I've seen worse ones costing more than £1000.
Get yourself to a curtain shop and order a blackout blind to your
dimensions. Problem solved & plenty of change for dvds. :)

Have a look at www.drhscreens.co.uk their basic matt white material is
surprisingly good, I've seen it reviewed against much more expensive stuff
and come out well. I have a screen made from it and have no complaints.

Have a look at their manual slimline screen, they will do you an 8ft
diagonal 126:9 screen for £178 delivered.

Cheers

there is (was) nothing wrong with komplett at all, until there new
software databasing system was installed to cope with massively
increasing trade. They admit it was a bit of a mistake as if fsked
everything up including stock levels etc., it should be on a link on
the main page somewhere.

I have been ordering all my pc stuff from them for well over a year
now, no problems at all, always answer my queries in a sensible time,
you should give them some leeway as there is probably a massive
christmas demand. it is unusual to see it being dispatched from
holland as they are based in norway. They also have websites for
ireland, norway, sweden and germany, they ship out of the same
warehouse for orders from 5 separate countries ......

I'm glad you've been happy with the service. IMHO good customer service is
about managing expectations and delivering to them. They said the backorder
delay was 3 days, not me. They said shipping would be another 2-3 days, not
me. They said they would ship (estimated) on 8th December, not me. Now they
are not saying anything and it is completely impossible to make contact with
them.

They could have said that stock would take two weeks to arrive, and that
would have been OK with me, but they didn't. Even if they made a bit of a
mistake they have done sweet Fanny Adams about keeping the customer
informed. Would it kill them to advise of the delay? Would it kill them to
reply to an email? Would it kill them to answer the phone? Regardless of the
delay in the supply chain their customer service in this instance has been
very poor.

I placed an order with www.play.com on Friday evening. They despatched on
Saturday and it arrive today from Jersey to the UK mainland. The website was
updated accurately and in a timely fashion. That is good service. The price
was an absolute bargain too :-) Amazon are also very good at keeping the
customer informed and hitting estimated ship dates.

Back to Komplett, I would mind far less about the delay if they would have
the courtesy to inform me of the progress or otherwise and revised ship
date. As it is I have no idea when or even if this Christmas gift is going
to arrive. For all I know they may have bodged their order to their supplier
and it may never turn up. How am I supposed to know? This is my first order
with Komplett so unlike you I have no previous positive experiences to
inspire faith.

I knew the screen was out of stock, but so close to Christmas they shouldn't
have kept saying they were getting stock in. I now have the problem of
wondering whether to scrap having the pj before xmas, having it after xmas
or not having it at all and saving the dosh for something that was going to
be a big xmas day experience for my whole family.

Somehow after looking forward to this weekend to watch both LOTR films (on a
106" screen) and then the third in the cinema, plus on xmas day Finding
Nemo, Pirates of T C and Nightmare before xmas. I now just cant be arsed
with anything

Another vote here for DRH. I've still not taken mine out of the box so
unfortuntately cannot comment on quality. But, it only took 2 or 3 days to
turn up from ordering online, so should get to you by Xmas. I would ring
them first though to save disappointment.

I'm putting mine up tomorrow, so should have a better idea then of what it's
like.

For the record I have been in touch with another supplier and phoned to
confirm stock. I had to leave a voicemail but they phoned me back within 30
minutes and confirmed that Canon have over 400 of the items in stock and I
have been promised delivery by Monday. It remains to be seen whether this
turns out to be the case but so far I am left with a far more positive
customer experience than with Komplett. Needless to say, I have cancelled my
Komplett order.

I hope you've done some research on that company or have good experience
with them.
In my experience a company who can't answer the phone to take an order is
*impossible* to get on the phone when a problem arises.

It could be they're overswamped for Christmas, but still I'd feel easier
about it if I knew their track-record (if I was the one buying of course).

Better a company that replies to a voice message within 30 minutes with an
informative and courteous reply than one that refuses to answer the phone at
all and leaves emails unanswered for a week or more. The "new" supplier is
far smaller than Komplett and it would not surprise me that the phone might
divert to voicemail. The fact that they listened to the voicemail, found out
the answer to my enquiry and called me back within 30 minutes is far more
reassuring than the vacuum created by Komplett's total communications
blackout.

Well the DRH screen is up and I'm well chuffed with it. Watched a few clips
from various films and it's far better than the magnolia wall I've been
using for the last week. Them proceeded to have several hours of gaming on
an 8ft screen - fantastic.

Only complaints so far about the screen, are that it was a bitch to put up
and I've not totally sussed the mechanism for retracting it into the cover.

ah well, hasn't put me off of using them, i am extremely happy with
all orders from them so far.

BTW what time of the day did you phone them ?

During regular business hours - maybe early afternoon. I can't remember for
sure. I cancelled the Komplett order online on Wednesday and it is still
showing "cancel pending". So they don't answer the phone, don't respond to
emails, and now seem to have an online order processing system that's
sulking too.

My "new" supplier promised delivery this Monday and sent me an email with
the courier tracking number on the day I placed the order (Wednesday). The
courier has the package now and delivery is indeed on target for Monday.

I was asking as their telephone support stops sometime around 3pm
during the week.

As my original post stated, they admitted immediately that their new
upgrade to a system that can handle very much bigger datasets, was in
retrospect an unwise purchase. Hopefully they can sort this out once
the xmas rush is finished.

So given the problems with the new system they feel it is good customer
service to stop answering phones at 15:00? You would think they might put in
more effort to compensate for the system problems. If they stop answering
the phones at 15:00 wouldn't it be a great idea to mention this in the
recorded message? They don't.

Seems a funny business model for delivering good customer service.

Package was delivered 10 minutes ago and very well packed/protected. The
item was actually an underwater camera housing so unrelated to home cinema
but as the thread was about Komplett I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. The
"new" supplier is
http://www.cameradepot.co.uk/mall/de...re=CameraDepot .
Price was £125 delivered against £122 from Komplett but it is £163 in Dabs
so I'm happy enough. At least my girlfriend will now have something to
unwrap on Xmas day apart from me :-D

Merry Xmas all ;-)

p.s. Komplett still haven't confirmed my order cancellation from last
Wednesday and haven't responded to emails from last week and the previous
week while the order was still open.
