Tivo slow response
I have a tivo unit I purchased a few months ago. It's no big deal but when I
open the guide and scroll, the screen takes a while to refresh. I page down and it takes a few seconds to display the programs. (can be annoying if paging down a few pages). Is this normal? Thanks |

This is why most everyone uses the Tivo Live Guide, as opposed to the Directv Grid. |
The TiVo Live Guide is the alternate display format from the DirecTV
Grid Guide. It is accessed by hitting the GUIDE button, then hitting the DISPLAY button. When the screen menu appears (generally a transparent one),go to the entry marked "STYLE" and toggle between the two to see which one you like best. In my case, even though the DirecTV grid guide is slower,I prefer it because to me it is less visually confusing. The TiVo Live Guide while a little faster, gives me a headache if I have to use it for long. But,to each his own guess. |

I like the Tivo guide much better. I can scroll thru all the channels in a few minutes and see what is coming on hours later. Once you get used to it you can never go back (I tried a few days ago... shudder). |
