Tivo's 30 Second Skip Easter Egg

Tivo's 30 Second Skip Easter Egg has stopped working. Anyone having this
problem.

This is done for skipping 30 sec block by -

Grab your TiVo remote.

Bring up any recorded program. (You have to be watching a recorded program
rather than "Live TV" in order to enable the feature.)

On your TiVo remote, key in the following sequence:

SELECT PLAY SELECT 30 SELECT

If you've successfully entered the code, you should hear three "bings" in
succession to inform you that you've successfully enabled the 30 second
skip.

Note that any time your TiVo is rebooted (such as after a power outage or a
software update) you'll have to re-enable this feature.

Please share if you have any backdoors ?

TIA

The key combo is Select - Play - Select - 3 - 0 - Select

And is best accomplished while watching a previoulsy recorded show.

I think I had a SW update during the night sometime and my 30 sec.
skip had to be reset this morning.

I've had it revert a couple times for no appraent reason that I could

Not a problem to do a quick reset, though.

I bought a UPS to stop that (and other stuff that goes along with power
outages) from happening, works great and it was less then $40 at Frys.
Worth every penny.

Mine still works but I have to enable it while watching live TV. Most everyone

can only set the feature while watching live.

You don't do a very good job explaining yourself, then, because your first
post said "how do you set it?", not "That didn't work, now what?"

The answer is the same though: The OP in this thread has the correct
method for turning on the 30-second skip. If it doesn't work for you,
you're either doing it wrong or you have one of the few models that
doesn't offer it. (I shouldn't have to ask what type of TiVo you have...
it's incumbent upon the person asking for help to give enough information
to give a chance at solving the problem.)

That's not what the instructions say to do.

You have to be watching something, NOT in Now Playing. It only works
while watching a video. You can do it while watching LiveTV or a
recording, but it is usually easier with a recording.

this wrong? would any one happend to know which model it does not supprot?

I've been following this thread and I still don't see how any of this
does a durn thing. At least not on my unit anyway. I have a Pioneer
Elite DVR-57H. Even when I hear it give the three bell confirmation I
don't see anything happen. Am I supposed to do something else as well,
to make it actually do a 30 second slip?

I've tried it on live TV, on a Playing Now, and on a saved program.
Nothing. Does this only work from a burned disk, because that's the
only thing I haven't tried yet.

If you are having problems, calm down; TiVo is sometimes persnicity about
timing.

1) Start playing a show from Now Playing.
2) Wait several seconds.
3) Press SELECT PLAY SELECT 3 0 SELECT.

If that fails, tell us the exact model and software version you're using.
