Can't access My Music or My Photos

I have the HMO...paid for it...should have waited...
I contacted TiVo and got nowhere....

I have a Series 2 connected via wireless router to cable modem...the
connection between the TiVo and the router is fine, it make the necessary
daily connects and updates and I can get the Best Buy Music demo, etc....but
my TiVo DVR can't seem to find the server (or TiVo Beacon). I've tried all
my local ISP addressed, etc and I've even removed the TiVo Desktop program
(and all related programs) from my computer, rebooted and redownloaded from
TiVo.com....I still can't get a connection to My Music or Photos.

Now, when I remove the program (using uninstall), reboot and reinstall, I
run the TiVo Desktop and my Music and Photos are still published....so there
must be cookies or something somewhere that aren't uninstalled with the
program. I don't know if this is affecting the program, keeping it from
truly reinstalling, but I am frustrated I paid $99 for the HMO and only had
use of it for about 2-3 months. Now, I can't access it at all.

I have McAfee Firewall and even though the TiVo Beacon, Desktop and Server
are all granted full access, I still get nowhere, even when I completely
disable the Firewall I get nowhere, so I don't think it's a firewall issue
either.

Anyone have any other suggestions???

Try uninstalling the McAfee.. I'll bet it starts working properly.

I had a similar problem setting up my router with my series 2... Try this...
[Start]--[Run] then type "winipcfg" open your more info option to see your
network IP and Gatway etc... Hit "Renew" and then attempt to logon to TiVo
again... worked for me....

NOTE: That applies to Win9x (95,98,Me) class machines. For NT based (NT2,
2K, XP), in a CMD box, "ipconfig" for basic info (IP, mask and GW),
"ipconfig /all" for detailed info and "ipconfig /renew" to perform a renew.

Just as a troubleshooting step, you can try running a program called
TCPView from Sysinternals at
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/tcpview.shtml

This will show you all of the processes running on your PC that are
listening for connections, connected, etc. (despite the name, it shows
both TCP and UDP connections). If you don't see the HMO beacon listening,
then you'll know it's on the PC end.

On my XP Pro ipconfig just opens and closes a dos box. Nothing else and
no results.

Run it from a command prompt box instead of start-run.

Valid point, but routers are so cheap these days, it's not worth not using
one, that will isolate your Tivos and PCs from the Internet.

" in a CMD box"

It does give results, you just didn't see them because the window closed
when the operation was complete.

SM Run it from a command prompt box instead of start-run.

Thanks, that works

Is your workstation plugged straight into a cable modem, or do you have a
firewall between you and the outside world?

Click start, then run. type in CMD.
Now you have a command prompt window.

Now type Ipconfig /all

Cable modem to router then through firewall to workstation....but again I
don't think it's a firewall issue since everything is granted full
access....and I didn't have this problem until about a month
ago.....nothing's changed except the ability to access My Photos & Music
